Spur of the Moment Beach Trip

Well, as many of you know Oresti has been home for awhile with a broken foot. I guess most husbands would be able to continue working, but as Oresti works in construction and has to lift hundreds of pounds of stone, he's not able to work. But, that means we've enjoyed having him around for 2 months! It's been wonderful and such a blessing! He was really working hard, long hours before the break, so this has been an amazing period of rest for him. So, last week we decided on the spur of the moment to take a trip to the beach! We drove over to Galveston Island, TX and spent one night. We must have looked quite comical dragging all these little ones onto the beach in 30mph winds, cold temperatures (although it was sunny), pregnant wife, and a husband on crutches:) But we were determined to play in the sand! The girls had a blast and not one complained about being out there. After an hour or so though, I couldn't handle the cold anymore and we dragged three little sandy ones back to the car. While we were out in the sand a car pulled up next to ours and a guy got out with a big video camera like he was from the news. So, if anyone saw a crazy family out in the cold wind on the beach, yep, that was us.

not the best photo of Mira, but it shows why we couldn't stop laughing out there, her face looked so round and chubby with that hat on:)

I love it! At least you have the option to go to the beach!! The ocean seems to be therapeutic for me. Such adorable chubby cheeks:)
