Freezing in Greece

When Luli was born, Oresti got us a furnace (Soba, in Albanian). It runs on gasoline and it really heated our house nicely. Last winter we only used our electric box heaters, and the house was always cold and our bill was extremely high. So, you can imagine our disappointment when our soba decided to start smoking the other day. So after Oresti spent an entire evening cleaning out this box in the wall that we didn't know needed cleaning, and clearing out this pipe in the wall, the soba still does not work. Now we're thinking that maybe the pipe from the soba, through the bedroom may be blocked so he might need to take it all apart and clean it. So now we're using the electric boxes again and we're freezing!! they are only in the living room, the bedrooms don't have any heat. But thankfully we have a portable heater that we plug in for Luli's room, so she's nice and toasty. We recently switched the rooms around, we moved our bed to the green room that used to be the "office". After 2 months of us sleeping on the fold out couch in the living room, we realized that we could just move to the other bedroom, ha! We just don't sleep well in the same room as Luli. With any noise she makes, I am awake and then it takes me forever to fall back asleep. Oh and did I mention that she is sleeping so great now! 7-8 hours at night usually!
Here's our lovely Soba when it was working.

cute little unit! Stay warm you three! I hear you on not being able to sleep in the same room as your baby, I'm the exact same way.
