Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the Metka house! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and gained a few pounds:) We had a very nice time. Friday evening we went Christmas Caroling with others in the church. We sang Silent Night so much that I think I know it in Greek by heart now:) It has gotten cold here now, so that made caroling and Christmas in general more fun. Sunday we were busy at church most of the day. In the morning they had special programs done by the children. Many of them played a musical instrument and there was some poems read and also a skit. Then in the evening the Albanian service was special, with Christmas hymns and a huge feast at the end. All the ladies brought something homemade and we all ate and ate and ate! It was so good to try everything! Then Oresti and I spent the rest of the eveing alone at home in front of our little Christmas tree and with a bottle of spiced, hot wine from Germany:) We didn't have many ornaments to put on the tree so Oresti came up with the idea to use colored clothes pins. It looked quite cute:) Then we woke up late Christmas morning, had breakfast out on our veranda. It was chilly but a very sunny day so it was nice to be outside. Then we looked in our stockings and opened presents. It was his first Christmas to do stuff like that! He really enjoyed it. Then we just relaxed all day and in the evening we prepared some sides for dinner and his mom and dad brought over the turkey and stuffing and we had a wonderful feast with them.
